Holy Spirit Shrine

By the time you read this announcement you will have seen the beautiful Holy Spirit Shrine situated on the east wall of the vestibule. This antique carving was purchased from a Catholic Church being closed in the Archdiocese of Chicago. It was carved in Italy nearly 100 years ago from oak – which is one of the most difficult woods to chisel – which makes this work of art all the more impressive.

The glass tile background on which the carving hangs, bears the symbolic colors of the Holy Spirit – red and gold. The carving was financially spon- sored by our Altar Rosary Society and our Men in Fellowship.

We thank both important ministries for supporting the beautification of the Shrine of St. Bernadette. May the Holy Spirit bless the members of both
parish.
